Ankel Replacement Surgery

A pioneer of mobile-bearing knee replacement surgery, Dr J.L. Briard, hailing from France, expressed his views on total knee surgery, as it is less expensive and less complicated and if 90 per cent of the pain was not there, the operation could be termed as successful. Dr J.L. Briard said that hi-flex knee replacement surgeries depended on soft tissue balance.

After total knee replacement one had to walk a few kilometres a day, but kneeling off and on will create problems. Squatting decreases the lifespan of the replaced knee and deep-infection rate will be about one per cent. One of the technological advances in joint replacement is the high flexion knee prosthesis which can improve the quality of life of the patient tremendously, is available at Fortis Healthcare hospitals in India.
